I've been blogging for over 3 years!
Damn I'm good!
Geez. I want to dive. The water looks so nice right now. There isn't anything here that I can't do.
At least I rock at what I do. The divers all seem to like me. that's nice.
Humm I guess that is all I can think of right now.
As of tomorrow it will be one full month that I never even stepped foot in my apartment. I left at the end of September and tomorrow is Nov. Monday marks 5 weeks I would have been out here and I must say that I do enjoy the pay checks. I don't really spend much of my money while I'm out here.
I can't believe it has almost been 5 weeks...
Like I said..I'm sick.
I also seem to have a snot factory up some place in my nose.
so seeing as I'm a guy I just blow the snot out of my nose and onto the deck of the barge (floor for those that don't know). Well I cover the left side and blow snot out the right. zOMG the biggest! snot rocket of snot rockets came out of my nose. It was bigger, that's right bigger!, than my nose. Crazy big. Had to blog about it big.
It was about 4 inches long just hanging from my nose!
I had to get that thing swinging side to side to get it to break its hold to me. it was that big. There were snot bubbles in it while I was blowing out my nose.
In fact when it did hit the ground there was even a *splat* sound to go with it. Crazy, I know!
and there was someone there to watch all this.
oh poor poor me!
Well I'm getting a little better now. Still isn't any fun. I can't really take any sick days out here. 12 hours on and 12 hours off every day. Yes, every day.
Well I should go take a shower. Hummm seems like I blog then think about a shower.
Oh I finished reading The Inferno. It was good. It was kind of easy to read. I didn't get some of the names or the cities, but the story behind it was cool. The book also had notes talkin' about what is going on and junk like that.
This one is a few days early. Monday will mark 4 weeks out here. Not too bad by any means.

Well I got to go in the water today. It wasn't a dive or anything, but I did have waves coming over my head. Just had to go do some work out where the pipe come out and goes into the water. Took about 20 minutes or so. I looked good for the boss man and everything.
and other new....I'm tired. It was a good day of work. We did a dive. They should start pushing out some pipe on this (day) shift. Then tomorrow will be 2 dives per shift.
I am really thinking about applying to a different company after a year.
Well I'm still out here. We still haven't start laying any pipe down. I've been looking at a different dive hat. One that I think I am going to have to take a look and see. It is a 6 hour drive but I think it'll be worth it. The more and more that I read about it, the more that I am liking what I read. it is almost 1000 cheaper, but that isn't the reason I want it. This hat might just be a little part of history in 15 years from now.
The Kirby Morgan has about an 80-90% of the market share while this guy has 20 hats at most out in use. In fact that this model that he has out are the first two that he has made. So 15 years from now I can say I had one of his first.
Well I've been up here for about 3 and a half or four hours now maybe I should go back down to where I should be "working" at.
Going on 3 weeks without really doing any work.
Well two weeks have gone by and we still haven't done any diving.
We should start laying pipe soon. Oh but the tug boat is brokened. Might have to go in and have a new tug come out. It'll take 7-8 hours for one to come out here. Heck the crew boat that was coming out here last night turned around and went back in. So who knows. And on top of that the x-ray machine thingy is brokened too! We can't put pipe in the water that hasn't been inspected.
so yeah. That's what I've been up to.

So I'm thinking, I know, this is the dive hat I want to get. The cost is $6200 with a deposit of 25%
Not cheap by any means, but it is for life support. Heck it is more than I spent on my car! Almost a lot more than I spent on my car. This is the biggest item I have to buy. I haven't even been in the water here yet. Not one dive under my belt. I really hope I get one on this job, but I'm not going to hold my breath for it.
I kinda wish I could go back to the beach (land) for a day or two so I can put the deposit down on the hat.
The cost of the hat will make a big dent into my savings, but I think it is better to spend the money now that I have it. I will just pinch pennies later if I have to. I'll make it work. My cost of living isn't that great. I can get buy cutting cable out and that alone will save $70 / month. I might just do that.
I don't even plan on setting foot in my apartment this or next month. It is great paying rent when I'm not there. Maybe I should have left my tv on so at least I'm using the cable :P
I just e-mailed the guying telling him that it's sold! I just wonder if I can get on the list for a hat from out here or if I'll have to go in.

It is going on two weeks now and they still havn't started laying any pipe. Not one dive so far. There has been some talk about puting us tenders on to an on-call status or maybe just working four 6s. I wouldn't mind working 6 hours a day and getting paid for 12. Other than that not must going on here. I'm on shift right now. Soon I'm going to go down and eat some lunch at 5am. I wonder what they are having. I wonder why my yahoo isn't connection. I'm also not a big fan of the dipshit I get to work with.
Well just about 5 o'clock I guess I should head on down now.
Yup that's right boys and girls. I ended up going to work. I'm on another pipe lay barge. It's boring. Been out here a week and they haven't got one dive in. It might be another week before we do any kind of diving. ohh less than 40% of my battery left. I think I might be out here 8 weeks. We'll see how the job goes. The closer to winter I don't know how many other jobs will be going so it might just be smart to stay here and at least get the paycheck.
