The Good Shepherd

Palmi (Joe Pesci): 'We Italians, we got our families, and we got the church; The Irish they have the homeland, jews their tradition; even the niggas, they got their music. What about you people, Mr Wilson, what do you have?'

Edward Wilson (Matt Damon): 'The United States of America, and the rest of you are just visiting.'

There you go. I love that quote. Am I a racist? Maybe a little. I'm not going to pretend and be one of those people that say "I'm not a raciest, but ...." Everyone has views and that's fine...acting on hate that's a different story.

Me? I'm white. I'm Californian. I'm American.

I don't call myself Armenian-American or even European-American.
When people ask where I'm from, after hearing my last name, I just say California.

Ok since everyone wants the same rights. I'm cool with that. Then everyone should have to work the same. Everyone should have to get the same scores on a test. Everyone should have to do the same number of push-ups, pull-ups, and sit-ups in the military. Everyone should have to run at the same times. If a job needed me to lift 80 lbs then everyone should have to. Guess what, to be a tender men and women have to lift the same weight the same amount of time.

So if I'm American and you're African American or Mexican American does that make you equal? NO. If you want equal just say you're American. Maybe Black-American or Brown-American. If you are from America and your parents-parents are also from America, guess what you're American. If you want to be Mexican or African then go back. Simple.

Uggg some people are just stupid!

ok ok. I'll just end it here before I go too (or should it be to) far off the deep end.

I'll never forget one day when I was in 6th grade (in Pennsylvania public school), surrounded by a bunch of kids I had barely met. The teacher asked us "What nationality are you?" Then, each student had to answer individually. I heard Jewish, Chinese, Italian, Irish, Polish, Japanese, Portuguese, etc, etc, etc...

But, when it was my turn, I said "I am American". The whole class turned around and looked at me like there was something wrong with me! Even the teacher! I have always been troubled by that I suppose... What is wrong with the American nationality?? :/
